A home baker's orders live inside a WhatsApp thread. The design is a photo somebody sent, the price was agreed in a voice note, the advance came by UPI and the date is somewhere in the scrollback.
Nothing is lost until the week you have eleven orders, and then something is.
The custom order, treated as a real thing
A customer sends the picture of the cake they want. You reply with a price. They agree, pay an advance, and it is booked for a date.
In Waplo that whole exchange becomes one order with the photo attached, the agreed price, the advance recorded and the day it is due. It appears in your list for that date instead of in a chat you have to search.
You approve every custom order
Nothing is auto-accepted. A request arrives, you look at it, you quote, and it is only an order when you say so.
That is the right way round for made-to-order work, where the price depends on what they asked for.
How much you can make in one day
You can set how many orders you will take on a given day, or block a day entirely. The menu then tells customers honestly instead of taking a booking you cannot bake.
This is the single most useful control for a one-person kitchen, and almost no software has it.
Your customers, and the reason they come back
Birthdays repeat every year. So do anniversaries, and so do the festival orders.
Because the order carried a date and a phone number, you have a list of exactly who ordered a birthday cake last October — and you own it.
Common questions
I work from home. Do I need a shop or a GST number?
Waplo does not require either. What your local rules require is a separate question and depends on your turnover and state.
Can I take an advance payment?
You can record that an advance was agreed and received. The money itself goes directly to you — Waplo never holds it.
Can customers still just message me normally?
Yes. The chat stays a chat. Waplo turns the ones that are orders into orders.
